About Kostermans Photography
My work consists of carefully constructed still lifes that blend photography, symbolism, and subtle surrealism.
Through the interplay of light and shadow, I create images that invite quiet reflection, evoking a sense of mystery, curiosity, and depth. Familiar objects are reimagined with poetic weight, allowing new meanings to emerge beneath their everyday presence.
My practice explores themes of isolation, transformation, and fragility — moments where balance is tested and significance arises in stillness. Rather than illustrating narratives, the work offers space for contemplation, where interpretation remains open and personal.
The images are not fully predetermined; they evolve during the act of making. By entering the caverns of my imagination, the works reveal themselves gradually, guided by intuition as much as intention.
